For over 30 years, A Child’s Haven has helped struggling preschool children in the Upstate acquire the skills necessary to be successful in school and beyond. Most children and families enrolled at ACH have been expelled from mainstream child care settings, have limited resources, and demonstrate a clinical need for behavioral health treatment services. Many of these children have experienced trauma, live in low-wealth environments, and grapple with social, emotional, and behavioral challenges that may be misinterpreted as willful misbehavior. ACH offers these children and their families the life-changing, 2-generational therapeutic services they need to thrive!
The proceeds of this event will not only support existing therapy programs for at-risk preschoolers and caregivers on our ACH Main Campus. They will also fund a new, innovative service delivery approach that ACH is piloting in partnership with other early childhood education programs and childcare centers.
Our new approach will enable ACH to aid in preventing the suspension or expulsion of children from traditional child care through Mental Health Support delivered by ACH’s licensed Child and Family Therapists at these centers. Using a 2-generational approach, ACH providers will offer both individual and family therapy to teach proven parenting strategies, improve behavior, and strengthen the parent/child bond, resulting in lasting positive change!
