Volunteer Finds Meaning at A Child’s Haven
“I started volunteering at A Child’s Haven almost two years ago through the Heller Service Corps at Furman University. At first I was only volunteering during the parent groups. I loved getting the chance to give these children individualized attention and play with them.
I noticed how incredible the staff members were with the kids and how much of a difference A Child’s Haven made in their lives. I watched the children grow and mature over time and I wanted to be more of a part of this wonderful organization. Today, I also volunteer in therapeutic settings and am a regular field trip volunteer.
A Child’s Haven has such an incredible mission and such talented staff members that I consider myself fortunate to be able to be a part of it.”
A Child's Haven has suspended all in-person services due to COVID-19 concerns, but we continue to provide our families with support through phone calls, text messages, and emails.
Despite these efforts, the COVID-19 crisis puts additional strain on our children and their caregivers, both financially and mentally. Learn how you can support ACH families during this time.
