It’s Not Just the Children Smiling

“Working for A Child’s Haven is a Challenge and a Blessing all wrapped in one place. I am the Chef at A Child’s Haven and I prepare breakfast and lunch for our children.

The other day when some children came back from a field trip, as they were returning to their classroom, the teachers had the kids stop in the hallway to thank me for preparing lunch for their day out. All the children turned and said ‘thank you Mr. John for lunch, it was really good and we liked the oranges that you sent’ (Mandarin orange cups), and at that moment they all came running back to me and gave me the BIGGEST HUG you can imagine.

Every day is a blessing to work for A Child’s Haven!!! I am thankful and blessed to be a part of these children’s lives. Learning all the children’s food allergies, their likes & dislikes, will always be a challenge. But to see them smile and thank me for cooking for them: that is PRICELESS.”
